Faculty get evaluated by students, peers, administrators, and even advisory committees. This forms the basis for a complete 360 evaluation and helps ensure top performance. Unfortunately, this approach does not apply to the MCC Board of Trustees or the MCC administration. In the majority of cases, this is not a problem. However, there are a few cases where this lack of evaluation has lead to intolerable situations.
This site will focus, early on, on those situations having significant impact on a large audience. The entire Student Services area and the administrators responsible, for example, need a complete third-party assessment. We will look first at the MCC bookstore. The posts listed below offer opportunites for comment. We hope that this opportunity for safe and secure communication will then lead to positive action.

I hope than an evaluation will help Mott reflect on their faculty. The professors have all been excellent, it is everyone else that is useless. You would think someone having a job where they interract with people would actually LIKE people. Not be someone who is rude and makes everyone uncomfortable. I am sorry if I make you uncomfortable and angry because I expected you to do your job. I think they hand select the people with the worst people skills in the area, and teach them every way possible to avoid doing their job and how to screw up every piece of paperwork they touch. The entire time I have been at Mott, and out of everyone I have interracted with (which is many since they gave me the runaround so much) I have seriously only met 2 people who were actually friendly and helpful and got the job done. Everyone else just sends you elsewhere or makes it seem like you are asking for an unreasonable request. God forbid they actually GASP had to do their job!!!! I have had more heartache and stress from dealing with/cleaning up all the mistakes the Mott office workers have created than I have ever experienced in my life. I would never suggest that anyone goes to Mott because of this. I actually highly suggest that people think otherwise. I know that it has been detrimental to me being put through all the nonsense. It is a shame because the professors are great. It's just not worth all the hastles.
I asked for Mott to send off my transcripts to the 4 year college I wish to transfer to. I filed my request extremely early. Way before grades were due, thinking they might actually get it done. WRONG! I filled out 2 requests, one they just weren't going to send (unreasonable request I guess) and the second they said did not have an address on it. Which is mindboggling because I remember handing it to her and she read it aloud as she entered it into the system while I was standing right there. Either way, they didn't plan on calling me to get the address, they just weren't going to bother sending the transcript (that I had already paid for). This is just one example of a frustrating experience I have had with the unorganized Mott system. Just like every other situation it ended with me spending half my day at the school running here and there and trying to clean up after their mistake that might cost me getting into school on time. I will probably have to start school late because of this stupidity as well as many other of their antics. I guess it's my mistake for thinking they looked out for the interst of their students, wanting them to further themselves, because they simply don't. They would rather hold you back and make you die from stress related causes because of it all.
That being said, think twice before going to Mott. If you go in with good health chances are you will leave with a million stress related problems.
Also, make sure you call every day after you request something (transcripts to be sent, financial aid to be denied, loan deferrments to be sent, etc etc) because this is the only hope you have that they will actually DO IT. And it is still a slim chance. Don't count on it. Try to find an alternative way to do everything yourself. That way you know it gets done.
When you talk to ANYONE at Mott it is smart to get their name, birthdate, SS#, favorite color and all that because later on they will tell you that you never talked to anyone about your issues, therefore you can prove that you did talk to someone. That way they can't say you didn't in an attempt to not have to do what they are being paid to do.
If you disagree with me, good for you! I am glad that they haven't found a way to put everyone through the hell that I have been through with them. I am not doing this to be spiteful as much as I am doing this to protect others from going through everything I have been through.
